ASH CONVEYOR SYSTEMS

Mayfran steel belt conveyors have been successfully used for years in demanding ash-handling applications, including:

  • Municipal solid waste incineration
  • Biomass waste incineration
  • Hazardous waste incineration

With robust designs suited for the industry, including less maintenance requirements and optional explosion panels on both sides of the conveyor, Mayfran offers a range of steel belts suitable for ash conveyor applications.  These products also offer proven performance in wet slag applications.

AUTOMATED OPTICAL SORTING SYSTEMS

Automated optical sorting can be used to separate different grades of glass, paper, plastic and aseptic (Tetrapak) containers from a waste stream or from each other using a variety of sensing methods.  Sensing techniques include: near infrared (NIR), high resolution color cameras, X-ray fluorescence, inductive metal detectors and combinations of these sensors.  The material to be sorted is fed into the optical sorter where it is “examined” by the sensor.  Then an electronic processor determines what the material is and activates a series of air jets that redirects the desired material slightly out of the main material flow and into a separate chute.  This technique is repeated as necessary to remove all of the desired materials.
